Our Curriculum

At Whitegate we work together we to make a real and lasting difference to the lives and learning of each unique child:-

At Whitegate we warmly welcome all children and their families so that they can feel that they belong

Whitegate is a place where children feel comfortable to be themselves, to play, explore, learn, achieve and thrive alongside others.

At Whitegate we value and celebrate the uniqueness of every child and understand that children have a range of interests, motivations and dispositions. We know that our children learn though meaningful and interesting opportunities and experiences and that all learning is interconnected.

Whitegate strives to provide sensitive and nurturing educators that value and listen to young children and understand development and the holistic nature of early learning

Our Staff team work together to create playful learning environments; indoors and out, full of open ended opportunities that inspire and spark young imaginations, their fascinations and their creativity

We are proud to inspire and support children to become ambitious in their quest to learn and find out more.

We are proud to celebrate the learning of each individual child and encourage children a sense of pride in themselves their achievements and their environment

We aim to provide each child with the knowledge skills, and dispositions that will support them to be effective and successful learners now and forever (effective citizens of the future).

When a child leaves our Nursery School we intend that they will be able to demonstrate the following:

I am willing to ‘have a go’ and can persevere

I am confident, I feel secure because I believe I can

I am creative and like to use my imagination

I am exploring my emotions and learning about friends and other people

I am curious and love to explore

I am motivated and engaged

(Whitegate’s Image of the Child)

All children will have a key person who can become their secure dependable adult who will then support them to become independent and more confident when developing relationships and friendships with other adults and children.

We value the importance of our families as the child’s educator and encourage them to work together with us to create opportunities to support a child’s individual learning journey
